SaveBrett.net: A Look Back at a High Profile Mindovo Project

One year ago today – July 12, 2008 – Mindovo launched the SaveBrett.net website. It was at once a personal passion of our founder – Tony Mars – and an excellent moment to showcase the various skill sets and services Mindovo brings to bear on client projects including:
Website design, online reputation management, viral marketing, public relations, news media outreach and management, networking, and offline project management.
At its peak – when Brett Favre made his failed bid at returning to the Packers in 2008 – the site was receiving hundreds of thousands of unique visitors from around the world and was featured in national, regional, and local newspapers, TV news shows, radio programs, and websites.
The site succeeded in building a significant community of dedicated followers that grew to over 20,000 strong in less than a month. By connecting with such a dedicated community funds were raised from across the country that made possible a regional bus tour, highway billboard, airplane flyover of Lambeau Field, T-shirts, flyers, yard signs, and an online petition.
Despite the fact that our last official activity on the site occurred August 9, 2008 the community discussion forums remain an actively used resource for Favre, Packer, Jet, Viking, and football fans of all ages. Posts and responses occur on a near daily basis and have been made as recently as this weekend.
SaveBrett.net is a great example of how – with the proper planning, implementation, and ongoing management – the power of the web can be harnessed for single issue advocacy, as well as promoting non-profits and businesses.
Do you have a complex project that requires expertise in technology, project mangement, and 21st century media relations? If so, Mindovo is here to help.
